What is the use case of long range? [closed]

What is the use of setting value to long -9 quintillion (-9,223,372,036,854,775,808) to 9 quintilion (9,223,372,036,854,775,807)
and with unsigned ulong 0 to 18 quintillion (18,446,744,073,709,551,615)
What is the use case of these ranges in gamedev?
I see one application: when the value exceeds the int range so use long so when it exceeds 2 billion (2,147,483,647)
and when exceeds uint 4,294,967,295 so use ulong
but other?
