usermod: group ‘sudo’ does not exist

Now for my WordPress project I’m setting up Vultr. I want to add user: p999qwe to the sudo (superuser) group, giving this user account root privileges.
I’m using PuTTy with my Windows 10 computer and I’m connected to Ubuntu 18.04

I have already created user and now I want to create root access to it by typing:

usermod -aG sudo p999qwe

but then in terminal I receive error usermod: group ‘sudo’ does not exist.

I have tried addgroup sudo received: sudo:addgroup: command not found

Have many other solutions for that as well, still not able to succeed this step.

I’m very new to Unix systems, so I would appreciate explanation if it’s possible in order to fix issue.

Kind regards,
Julijs
