TigerVNC doesn’t let me change keyboard

  • TigerVNC (1.10) client installed in my local MAC.
  • TigerVNC server installed in Ubuntu server with a xfce4 based desktop.

I want to type in other languages using my MAC English US keyboard. I am able to do this when I type in locally (i.e. type in some MAC application running locally) by just changing the keyboard language (see screenshot 1). But once I enter TigerVNC session, it doesn’t let me change the keyboard and automatically selects U.S. keyboard (see screenshot 2).

I have tried Amazon Linux 2 also as the remote server. The results are exactly the same.

So doesn’t TigerVNC support any other language input?
