When selecting “customize” for a subsite, the preview doesn’t render, only the login page

I’m trying to customize the theme for a subsite, and in the customizer, it doesn’t display a preview of the subsite, but rather, a login page. I’ve entered my credentials into the login page, clicked log in, it will say “logged in successfully”, and then redirect right back to the same login form.
