Ask Law & Ethics

[ Law & Ethics ] Open Question : When in prison is it ideal to simply keep to myself and not get involved with other inmates?

I am curious because I have never been to prison before as I am not really a trouble maker. I tend to be a recluse and really do not want to associate with other people. I understand that the inmates who get into trouble with each other are usually those who are either ratting on other inmates, have been convicted of attacking women and children, and those who get into the wrong crowds. Personally I would probably prefer to be in solitary confinement for my entire sentence.
