GRUB – lvm module parameters

For some reason, grub is not “seeing” a disk that is part of a LVM array because the disk number is superior to eight – or at least, that’s what I guess, since if you re-arrange the disks, and set both members of the lvm group below the eight disk, it does not run into the error.
I’m trying to boot from a LVM device made out of 2 block devices, by the way.
Can anyone point me to the documentation about the lvm module so I can see if there’s any parameter I can submit to it?
The OS is ubuntu 14.
Regards
