Event Logs for VSS Shadow Copy System Provider in Windows Server 2012 R2

I’m administering a Windows 2012 R2 server with Shadow Copies enabled using the System provider and last night 28 days of shadow copies just disappeared. VSSADMIN can list 2 shadow copies for the volumes. Does the System provider log any events to Windows Event logs? If so, which logs/id’s should I be looking for?
