I’m running a full node. I wanted to get a list of all mempool txs (using getrawmempool false), and found that it only came back with around 3000, where all the block explorers are currently showing around 12000. I understand that mempools will differ between nodes, but this seems like a very big difference. Can […]
I’m taking a look at Bitcoin core and am looking for where the TX is effectively “generated” and send out to an address. I’ve found the nSubsidy block reward, but I’m currently looking for where the transaction is sent out and recorded on the blockchain. If I don’t understand something right, please correct me, otherwise, […]
I recently sent my old Theta token to Binance as well as the Theta Wallet online (wallet.thetatoken.org), and have yet to see a balance in either wallet despite confirmations. I realize now that I sent the old tokens that hadn’t been swapped to mainnet wallets. Is there any hope of recovering my old tokens and […]

Given a network of k miners, what is the impact of k on the probability of having forks in Bitcoin or any PoW-based blockchain? It is clear for me that a network with fewer miners will have less probability of having a fork than a network with higher number of miners. Is there any mathematical […]
this was a script I found for trading with macd. It is taken from trality.com: @schedule(interval=”1h”, symbol=”BTCUSDT”) def handler(state, data): macd_ind = data.macd(12,26,9).last if macd_ind is None: return signal = macd_ind[‘macd_signal’] macd = macd_ind[‘macd’] has_position = has_open_position(data.symbol, truncated=True) balance_base = float(query_balance_free(data.base)) balance_quoted = float(query_balance_free(data.quoted)) buy_amount = balance_quoted * 0.80 / data.close_last if macd > signal […]
Bitcoin is supposed to be a clock on it’s own right so it always felt sketchy to me that outside time is referenced. Could bitcoin be aware of it’s own block interval through something like staleblock rate? Could that allow it to do difficulty adjustment without reference to outside time?
I’m doing a small research project collecting information on minikeys. In that research process I’ve come across a couple of questions that I have been unable to answer in relation to the assumed keyspace of the version one minikey. The said mini key, was used primarily by Casascius Series 1 coins, and consisted of the […]
The main bitcoin blockchain (the chain that miners choose to work on) is the chain with the most proof of work (“heaviest” chain). Currently, the cumulative proof of work on the bitcoin main blockchain is about 2^94 hashes. I have a few questions here: (1) How is the cumulative proof of work on a bitcoin […]
